Philanthropy

Alpha Omicron of Pi Kappa Alpha is trying to raise money for the non-profit organization Wounded Warrior Project, who works with injured veterans and those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder become reassimilated when they return from service .  We will be holding our 19th annual Crawfish Boil on Sunday April 1st with all proceeds from the event being donated to Wounded Warrior Project. We are also selling patriotic themed shirts to raise money for the organization. Founders Day 2012

Our Founders’ Day event will be Saturday, March 3^rd, starting at 11:30 am, at the Pike house. BBQ buffet is planned as well as an open bar, tips accepted. Other activities include a Pirate baseball game at 2:00 to watch AO actives who are on the team play the University of Dallas as well as other opportunities to connect with the actives as well as the new AO '12 pledges. The Pike House will be open throughout the day. We hope you can attend

Alpha Omicron Takes 16 Pledges

On Saturday, January 14, 2012 the bothers of the Alpha Omicron chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha welcomed fifteen new pledges. Followed on January 20 by one more accepting an open bid. This is the second year in a row that Pi Kappa Alpha has obtained the largest pledge class of the four fraternities on campus. The AO'12 pledge class looks promising with members that are active in several activities around campus. They also have many members who participate in sports for Southwestern such as baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, track, and cross country.

Homecoming Weekend 2011 a Success

On November 4-5, 2011, Alpha Omicron welcomed back close to 100 alumni from across the decades. Through multiple activities over the weekend, from a dinner with members of the first-year class and active chapter, to the open house and business meeting, the current active chapter took advantage of multiple opportunities to reconnect with alumni and share stories about being a Pike at Southwestern. The Alpha Omicron Alumni Association elected a new Executive Committee, consisting of Brother Mark Danheim as President and Brothers Ricky Post and Dustin James as Vice-President and Treasurer. Additionally, The Steve Raben Award and The Mike Rossman Award were given to Brendin James and Steve Ressling, respectively. Finally, in recognition of his years of service to the chapter, the upstairs study room was formally named "The Steve Raben Study Room" and dedicated with a plaque in his honor. Overall, it was a successful weekend and we look forward to reconnecting with alumni again over Founders Day this Spring.
